High quality and timely videos are key to the effective automobile merchandising. UnityWorks!’ goal is to have the VIN-specific videos complete and published within 48 hours of receiving the required acceptable photos from the data feed.
Quality and timely videos are dependent on good photos in the feed – ASAP
In most situations these goals are met, but occasionally video production is delayed when the quantity or quality of photos for a specific VIN don’t meet certain standards. Most commonly this happens when the initial feed for a VIN doesn’t have photos, has stock photos or has poor photo quality.
When this occurs, UnityWorks!:
- Delays the production of the video
- Regularly monitors the data feed for improved photos when they become available
- Restarts the production of the video once acceptable photos are available
Photo Threshholds
Video production requires 5+ photos for each VIN. Stock photos are not accepted because they could be construed as a misleading representation of the type, color and quality of a pre-owned car. Additionally if the photos are blurry, too light or too dark, they are not included because of their negative impact on video quality.
Achieving Quality and Timeliness
For videos that are of high quality and timely, we recommend the following:
- Take a number of photos as early in the process as possible and include them in the initial data feed. We recommend at least 9 photos per VIN
- Invest in equipment and an environment that ensures quality videos regardless of the weather or time of day
- Include feature descriptions that truly impact buying decisions and present your vehicles in the best possible light
The Video Production Process
The process for creating a walk-around video begins with the VIN-specific photos that come across the data feed. FastAds performs the following:
- Video Preparation – Assuming the quantity and quality of photos are acceptable, videos are completed within 48 hours
- Rejected VIN Resolution – when the photos for a VIN don’t initially meet standards, production is held up and the feed is checked at least twice per week for better or more photos. Once the photos meet standards, they are put into the production queue
- Most common reasons for rejected VINS – not enough photos, stock photos, or poor photo quality (too light, dark or blurry).
